New Services added Google Maps and Analytics
When we create or refurbish a website for you we use a very popular software product called Wordpress.
Using this product enables us to add a range of additional services called plugins.
These help in the creation process but also allow us to make your site far more interactive and search engine friendly that other forms of development software.
Here is a short list of some of the features each plugin does.
- SEO: This plugin lets us set the title, description and keyword for each site, page and post making sure your site is well positioned in the Search Engines.
- Video: This plugin allows us to add many different forms of video both public and private to your site.
- Audio: Adding audio from a speech to radio add can add interactivity and interest to a site
- Ping: This submits your rss feed to many different sites every time we write a post for you giving greater viability.
- Contact Form: allows us to customize a feedback form for you
- Captcha: is to stop spammers using your site to send spam
This is just a small selection that we commonly use however with the new versions of Wordpress there are two more we can add that are very powerful.
Google Maps For Wordpress.
This plugin allows us to insert Google Maps into your blog, making use of the new shortCode system in WordPress 2.5. We can configure the map to offer directions to or from the location, show or hide the zoom/pan controls, show/hide map type (street view, satellite, etc), activate zoom using mouse wheel, and more. Here is one I made as an example for the Power House Museum.
Google Analytics For Wordpress
Google Analytics will enable us to provide statistics for your site and help us see where people are going and what they read most.
This is great for business because say you have 30 products you will be able to see which one is searched for the most and if it matches your sales data then you know to promote that product more or maybe upsell from another product.
Here is a quick video to explain a little more.

By incorporating all these features plus our standard graphics and text abilities you will have a fully multi media Search Engine Optimized site which your visitors will love.

Unlock the Potential of Your Website
How to improve your website for better profits!
The Internet has made apparent that a business’ website is an increasingly important asset, and many companies are now embarking on website redesign projects to “improve” their websites. However, in order to really get the most out of a website redesign, businesses need to construct their website in the context of a greater Internet marketing strategy.
Today, consumers are going to the Internet to start their purchasing process. In order to remain competitive, businesses need to utilize “inbound” marketing techniques to “get found” by the consumers searching for their products and services online.
SO amny websites today are still relying on the old addage “if you build it they will come”. The market today is a lot more competitive and by adjusting some of your web pages dynamics you will find you can get more traffic and generate a lot more leads.
Your Website Can Be The Most Important, Strategic
And Cost Effective Tool You Have
What to consider when redisgning your website!
The Wrong Reasons
“We have a new corporate look and feel.”
“I’m tired of the old website.”
“It’s been 12 months since the last redesign.”
“The design department wants to do it.”
“The CEO wants to do it.”
The Right Reasons
“Get found by more prospects.”
“Convert more prospects into leads and customers.”
“Branding” might be a good reason… if it will drive the goals above.
What you want to concentrate on
Create more, better, optimized content
Create more, better offers and calls to action
Optimize landing pages
Over the last few months dealing with many businesses we have found that very few of them add related content on a consistent basis. Search engines and visitors look for new content and rate your site accordingly.
Lots of these business sites also have very poor Search Engine Optimization. This is not a migic button like many would have you believe. Most of it is simply adding good content with relevant keywords and content to capture your visitors. A clear call to action is far more important than a cool graphic or flash animation.
We can provide a wide range of marketing suggestions. Contact us via email or call us for a free quote.

How to drive traffic to your website
Your business website is a fishing net
After talking to lots of different businesses it seems that 99% are overly concerned with getting first place on google, however there are lots of other ways people find your website.
Have you ever heard of the six degrees of seperation.
Six Degrees of Separation Experiment
“This project was conducted by Duncan Watts and colleagues at Columbia University, New York, to test the theory of “six degrees of separation” through the application of email. More than 60,000 people from 166 different countries took part in the experiment and they were assigned 18 target people, which the participants knew the name, location, professional and some educational background of the 18 targets. The targets were assigned to them randomly.
The participants were asked to contact the target by sending email to people they already knew and considered potentially closer to the target. The objective for participants was to send email to contacts that are closer to the target, and the message would be carried down until it reached the target.
It was observed that it will take on average five to seven intermediate steps before the message was delivered. It was further observed that it would need an average of five intermediate steps for the message to be delivered to the target within the same country; and an average of seven intermediate steps for international target.
The Internet has allowed for connections to be made over a wide range of places.
The other thing we notice is that many web developers say that the site is Search Engine Optimized yet most do not even have the basic that we have covered in another post.
A short client example:
When we create a website for you we submit all your pages and posts to various search engines, RSS directories, Social Bookmarking sites and more. This means that while your page or post may not be on ther first page of google they do appear in many other places.
They are there virtually forever so the chances sombody sees it is fairly high. Obviously the more you have out there the better chance you have of getting found.
I sold one of my products to a customer who was in Germany a few weeks ago and he contacted me to get some support. We had a conversation on skype and I asked how I could help.
It turned out that he was an Australian helping his son, who was living in Germany, add some streaming audio to a site for his sons band. He purchased our MP3 Sound Stream product through a link from a post I had written over a year ago and was on a site in Germany.
What was even more bizzar was that he lived just a few streets up from me.

So you see while a Google listing is very good it is not the only place you get traffic from. A good place to see this in action is your local library. If they have free Internet then a half hour visit and watch how people surf will show you numerous ways people get information.
In the end it may only be 25 to 30% of your traffic comes from Google and the rest from a variety of different places.
Now all this depends on if you are utilizing all these avenues and adding a constant stream of content that can be throuwn out therer like a net to draw in new customers towards your business.
Web Marketing For Profit can show you how to achieve this very simply. Contact us for speedy support.
Marketing advantage of Blog Posts vs Home Page
The other day I was looking to buy a new iPhone so I jumped on the net and started searching.
The problem I found was that most search results took me to a home page where there were hundreds of phones and it took quite a lot of work to find the specific information I wanted.
Most website home pages appear to try to be all things to all people, with reference to too many products and services contained in the site.
If the text does not relate to what customers are searching, your site will most likely be ignored, thus lowering your search engine ranking.
Blog Posts, however, are not static and target a specific search terms, products or services you are promoting and the customer is searching for.
Each Blog Post has its own keywords for ranking and targeting, together with relevant content.
This seo technique accelerates the search engine optimisation process.
Blog Posts have better visitor response and are considered to be more believable than the traditional home page of a static website. They are intended to be informative and not just a sell page.
They finish by providing a redirecting link for the visitor, should they want more information. This system help generate many more sales and also better search engine positioning.
Adding Fresh content regularly can dramatically improve search engine positioning and help in the sales process.
In the end I found such a site and bought the phone.
If your Website is not performing then possibly you have fallen into the same trap of the Homepage with too many results.

Why did Julie win Master Chef? – Demographics
Master Chef was a competition on channel Ten that pitted ameture cooks against each other in an aim to determine who would become the Master Chef of the series.
Julie won tonight in a riveting cook off against Poh.
The big discussion in our household is was Julie the one who should have won the competition and the answer is really quite simple.
She did and the judges decision is final.
I guess the interesting thing is that Julie is smack bang in the middle of the demographics of the show, and its important to remember with all these shows that it is as much about the marketing as it is about who wins.
Your website and marketing of your business is the same.
What is a demographic?
A demographic profile can be used to determine when and where advertising should be placed so as to achieve maximum results. In all such cases, it is important that the advertiser get the most results for their money, and so careful research is done to match the demographic profile of the target market to the demographic profile of the advertising medium.
A good way to figure out the intended demographic of a television show, TV channel, or magazine is to study the ads that accompany it. For example, in the United States the television program The Price is Right most frequently airs from 11 a.m. to Noon. The commercials on it (besides the use of product placement in the show itself) are often for things like arthritis pain relievers and diapers.
This indicates that the target demographics are senior citizens and parents with young children, both of whom would be home at that time of day and see that show. Another example would be MTV, for it has many ads with digital audio players indicating that the channel is targeted to young adults and teenagers and/or fans of music.
Some questions to ask yourself when outlining your target market or demographic group include:
- What is the age range of the customer who wants my product or service?
- Which gender would be more interested in this product or service?
- What is the income level of my potential customers?
- What level of education do they have?
- What is their marital or family status?
- Is this a product or service they need or a luxury item?
- How will they use this product or service?
- What will draw them to this product or service? (Easy availability? Low price? Personalized attention? Special features?)
- Which, if any, special features are most appealing?
- What do they like or dislike about the product or service in general?
- Is this an impulse buy or something they are saving up for?
- What is the common method of payment for this product or service? (Cash? Credit Cards? Installment Plans?)
- Where do they gather their decision-making information? (The Internet? Newspapers? Magazines? Books? Television?)
Once you have worked out who is your primary market you can then organize your marketing to suit.
Of course this does not mean that the group of people you choose will be the only people who buy from you. Quite the opposite. Tje business that targets a certain demographic will often sell more to a wide audience because their message has a lot more clarity and is way more focused.
Coca Cola aim most of their marketing at the younger person however they still sell to an older audience like me.
“You definitely need to figure out who your buyer and demographic is before proceeding and what type of valuable content you will need to attract, inform and convert them.”
